A team of 22 fund managers from the United Kingdom is curelrently in the country scouting for investment opportunities in Zimbabwe mainly in mining.
The delegation which comprises of investment companies and senior investment decision makers met President Mnangagwa at his Munhumutapa offices.
President Mnangagwa after meeting the delegation said he was open on the challenged currently affecting the country.
“I honestly told them of our situation as a country , the challenges we are facing, the weaknesses which we have and I exposed that to the entire delegation and I hope they will look at it and make their own decisions,” he said.
Head of delegation for the fund managers Robert Hersov said the team of investors has been interested by investment opportunies offered by Zimbabwe.
“The President and his Ministers were open and frank on the situation which the country is in right now and also to the potential which the country has. We are great believers in Zimbabwe and it is one of the countries in Africa which has almost every mineral and it has a diverse investment opportunities.
“So the delegation that came comprise of 22 private investors and also senior decision makers from various large investment companies. There are a number of investors on this delegation interested in mining, energy, tourism and hospitality, logistics and agricultural sector,” said Hersov.
He said the visit by the delegation of fund managers and senior investment decision makers is the beginning of something big for Zimbabwe going into the future.
Hersov said free and fair elections by the Southern African country is key going foward.
