Evidence of mismanagement by the Zimbabwe Miners Federation’s Mashonaland West chairperson Chiedza Chipangura whom Norton legislator Hon Temba Mliswa has accused of being corrupt has surfaced.

On his Twitter handle, Norton Member of Parliament Mr Temba Peter Mliswa accused the ZMF MashWest boss for using her position to grab a mine with a group of illegal miners
“Alleged corruption closer to home…. Norton resident & MashWest ZMF chair in clear abuse of her position to grab a mine with a group of illegal miners purporting to be acting on behalf of LiddoMine which is in fact owned by Todd Muguza. Note the date stamp & yet today’s the 5th” reads the tweet in part.
Mliswa on his Twitter thread also accused Chiedza of owing a lot of money unaccounted for to Norton Miners Association in which she is the founding chairperson.
“…also owes people in Norton money from her stint at Norton Miners Association where funds were spent that weren’t accounted for. Doubt is also cast on the registration validity of the nurse aid training she conducts.
@Zimra_11 are taxes being remitted?” Reads part of the tweet.
Chiedza Chipangura responded by accusing the Norton legislator of character assassination.
According to Chiedza, Temba wanted to use her in his political ambitions
However, Chipangura’s successor Privilege Moyo has admitted that Chiedza needs to answer some questions in relation to her position as the former boss of the association.
According to Moyo, there are grey areas in her leadership which need to be addressed.
“There are some grey areas which we require clarity from her and up to date she has not furnished us with the information. During formation of the association till the time a treasurer was chosen she handled all finances . No hand over take over was done when the treasurer was chosen.”
“All Ecocash transactions went through her phone and no record or statement was availed to confirm all payments made against receipts. There are other members who complained of not getting receipts even after payment.”
“Until today her financial records for income and expenditure are not available. She has all the books, files and assets including donated tables and chairs etc, until now she hasn’t surrendered them. We will send you a letter we wrote to her on that effect” said Moyo.
The owner of Liddo mine, Tedd Muguza has confirmed to Mining Zimbabwe that was no agreement between them and Chipangura concerting her to write a letter to the police.
Chipangura had initially said that the owner of Liddo mine approached her as ZMF boss to write the letter for them.
However, the letter written by Chipangura does not represent herself as ZMF Mashwest boss but as an official representative of the mine.
“Chiedza Chipangura wrote a letter to the Mines Office in Chinhoyi presenting herself as a representative official who owns 41 % of Liddo Mining claims, and she took the same letter to Norton Police”
“But I can confirm that she is not neither a representative or owner of these claims, furthermore, our company and myself do not even know her” said Tedd Muguza.
