BREAKING: Veteran miner Sheila “Cde Yondo” Mabasa passes away
Veteran Norton miner who was also a ZANU PF central committee member Ms. Sheila Mabasa also known as “Cde Yondo” has died.
Mabasa was a champion for women’s empowerment in the mining industry. She strongly advocated for women to venture into mining and not just rely on men for their upkeep.
Mabasa with her partners spearheaded a very successful Norton mine that employs over 150 people. The mine has an extremely successful agriculture project that is supplying all of Norton with tomatoes, vegetables and much much more. The mine also supplies Norton Police with an uninterrupted water supply.
Her partner, Mr. Fletcher Mbizo confirmed he had received the sad news but could not shed more light.
