Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development Eng Fred Moyo is set to grace the Association of Mine Managers of Zimbabwe (AMMZ) 54th Annual General Meeting and Conference 2026 as Guest of Honour, bringing government representation to one of the mining industry’s key professional gatherings.

The conference will run from 1 to 4 November 2026 at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga under the theme “From Plan to Performance.”

The annual gathering brings together mine managers, mining companies, equipment suppliers, service providers and other industry stakeholders to discuss operational performance, safety, productivity and the future of Zimbabwe’s mining sector.

Moyo’s participation comes at a time when the industry is focused on translating investment and production ambitions into measurable results, while improving operational efficiency and ensuring that mining contributes meaningfully to national economic development.

Focus on operational performance

The 2026 conference theme, From Plan to Performance, places emphasis on turning mining strategies and commitments into practical outcomes at the operational level.

For mine managers, this means improving production efficiency, maintaining reliable equipment, strengthening safety standards and controlling operating costs while ensuring that mining operations remain sustainable.

The conference provides a platform for industry professionals to exchange experiences, examine operational challenges and discuss practical approaches to improving performance across mining operations.

Government participation also provides an opportunity for engagement between policymakers and mining professionals on issues affecting the industry’s operating environment and development priorities.

A platform for industry engagement

The AMMZ AGM and Conference is expected to bring together professionals from across the mining value chain, including mine managers, technical specialists, equipment manufacturers, distributors and service providers.

For suppliers, the gathering offers an opportunity to engage with mine managers and technical personnel who understand the practical requirements of mining operations and influence decisions on equipment, technology and services.

The programme includes registration, networking, conference presentations, the AMMZ Annual General Meeting, the President’s Dinner, golf, social activities and a technical visit to ZCDC in Marange.

The technical visit will provide participants with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to mining operations and exchange knowledge on industry practices.

Driving mining excellence

As Zimbabwe continues to pursue growth in mineral production and investment, the role of mine managers remains central to ensuring that resources, equipment and technology deliver the expected results.

The AMMZ conference provides a setting for industry professionals to assess how operational excellence, safe production and sustainable value can be achieved across the sector.

With Deputy Minister Fred Moyo set to attend as Guest of Honour, the 54th AGM and Conference will bring together government and industry representatives around discussions on mining performance and the sector’s future.

The event will run from 1 to 4 November 2026 at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga. Industry participants can register through the AMMZ website at www.ammz.co.zw or contact the organisers on 0782 708 397–400, WhatsApp 0777 594 039, or [email protected].
